Who this covers

This policy covers the Skool Video Downloader – Bulk Course Backup browser extension and the website at downloadskoolvideos.com, published by NextGen Apps.

What the extension stores on your device

Job state, settings, and licence state are stored in the extension’s local browser storage. Free-tier usage uses Chrome sync when it is available. The separate licensing requests that can leave your device are described below.

• The current job. Which course you are exporting, the lessons in it, and the checkpoint used when retrying an interrupted export.
• Your licence state. Your licence key, the activation identifier the payment provider returned, and when it was last checked.
• Your free tier usage. A count of single lesson downloads this week and when the week started, so the free allowance can reset. This one syncs through your own Chrome profile if you have Chrome sync enabled, which means it travels through Google, not through us.
• Your theme preference and the identifier of the manager tab.

Uninstalling removes the extension’s local storage. Chrome may retain the free-tier counter in your synced browser profile so it can follow you across devices and reinstalls. That synced state is controlled through your Chrome profile and sync settings. Our licensing endpoint does not maintain a customer database.

What the extension does not store or collect

• No Skool username, password, email address, or session cookie.
• No account with us. There is no signup and no login.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking pixels.
• No list of which courses or communities you belong to.
• No copy of your video, audio, notes, or resources.
• No browsing history outside the Skool pages you open yourself.

What leaves your device

Video and lesson content

It goes from Skool and the video hosts straight to your browser, and from your browser straight to the folder you chose. It is assembled into MP4 inside the browser. It never passes through any server we operate, which is a deliberate design choice and also the reason we could not inspect it if we wanted to.

Licence activation, only if you enter a key

If you buy a paid plan and enter a licence key, the extension sends that key and a device label to our licensing endpoint, which forwards it to our payment provider to confirm it is valid. It is re-checked about once a day. The licensing endpoint stores nothing; it is a policy check, not a database. If you never enter a key, this request never happens.

The uninstall survey, only if you fill it in

When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a short Google Form asking why. The link carries the version you were on and nothing else — no licence key, no device identifier, no course or lesson data. Answering is optional and nothing is sent unless you press submit.

The form has an optional field for your email address, used only to reply to you about what you reported. It is not added to any mailing list and you will not receive announcements or marketing from it. Responses are held in Google Forms, so Google’s privacy policy applies to them. Leave the field blank and the response stays anonymous.

Payments

Payments are handled by a payment provider acting as merchant of record — Dodo Payments for purchases made up to 7 August 2026. Your card details are entered on their checkout, not ours, and we never see or store them. Their handling of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policy. Paid plans are not on sale at the moment while we move providers; this page is updated before any new provider takes a payment.

Which sites the extension can reach

The extension requests access only to the hosts it needs to read a course and fetch the video: Skool, and the video hosts Skool lessons use, which are Mux, Loom, Vimeo, Wistia, and the content delivery networks those services serve their media from. It does not request access to any other site, and it has no permission to observe your general browsing.

Access and permissions

The extension can only retrieve what your own signed-in session is already permitted to retrieve. It does not circumvent permissions, paywalls, or DRM. Where you do not have access, the request fails at the source and the lesson is recorded as skipped.

Children

The extension is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the extension ever begins collecting something it does not collect today, this page changes before that version ships, and the date at the top changes with it.
